1.1 US Short Sale transactions can only be executed through designated US Short Sale account (US Short Sale business and general stock trading business are handled separately by two different accounts).
1.2 No account opening fee for US Short Sale account.
1.3 Once the US Short Sale account has been successfully opened, our company will send confirmation letter to client by email or by post.
2.1 Securities in the list of “Designated US Securities Eligible for Short Sale” approved by our company can be accepted for short sale, otherwise the securities borrowing application will not be accepted.
2.2 At the time of securities borrowing, client shall maintain sufficient cash in the US Short Sale account as collateral. During the securities borrowing period, client shall maintain sufficient cash collateral for the real-time rise or fall in the market value of borrowed securities.
2.3 Client can place order and check whether we have enough quantity of shares for short sale on US Short Sale trading platform or contact our Dealing Hotline.
3.1 On the last trading day of each month, our company will deduct the handling fee for the securities borrowing of the month from client's US Short Sale account. The daily handling fee is charged according to: (the closing price of the borrowed shares) x (quantity of the borrowed shares) x (handling fee rate per annum) / 360 days.
3.2 The borrowed handling fee rate is daily floating.
3.3 There is no minimum period for borrowing securities, client can close position on the same day.
4.1 The required collateral amount of account is determined according to the changes in real-time market value of the borrowed securities, the system will compute the account's required collateral amount with the price change of borrowed securities in real-time.
4.2 If the price of the borrowed securities rises, the required collateral amount will be increased accordingly. Once the cash balance of client's account less than required collateral amount, the system will execute forced liquidation automatically without any prior notice.
