GTJAI Enacted Large-scale Tree-planting to Practice ESG Ideologies

Greening in Person, Portraying as Model in the Industry

[11 June 2021, Hong Kong] Guotai Junan International Holdings Limited(“Guotai Junan International”, “GTJAI”, the “Company” or “Group”, stock code: 1788.HK) today accomplished a large-scale tree-planting activity, where Dr. YIM Fung, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of GTJAI, and Dr. FU Tingmei, Chairman of the Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Committee, led employees to Tai Lam Country Park for a task of planting nearly 300 saplings, practicing its ESG ideologies by devoting to environmental protection and tackling climate change.

Guotai Junan International participated in the “Tree Planting Challenge” coordinated by green group Friends of the Earth for the second time since 2017 and gained full support from the entire Company. Led by Dr. YIM Fung and Dr. FU Tingmei, employees planted nearly 300 local saplings at Yuen Tun Country Trail in Tai Lam Country Park, and accomplished the task in around 3 hours with concerted effort.  

Dr. YIM Fung, who led the team today, said, “We are very glad to join such a meaningful event, contributing towards tackling global warming, greening the environment and advancing biodiversity. Since 2016, the Company has already been highly valuing ESG ideologies and corresponding practices, and we have been proactively reporting our performance to investors annually, thus taking corporate responsibilities as an integrated financial group.
