Finance for Good, Walking with Green
GTJAl's Volunteer Team
Participates in Mangrove Conservation Activity
To implement Guotai Junan's green finance and ESG development philosophy, enhance employees and their families' awareness of ecological environment protection, especially the conservation of mangrove ecosystems, and disseminate knowledge about the ecological value and protection of mangroves, on December 19, 2024, the Guotai Junan Greater Bay Area Coordination Committee organized the "Finance for Good, Walking with Green" mangrove conservation event. Members of the Guotai Junan International Volunteer Team and volunteer representatives from various departments from the headquarter actively participated.
The Shenzhen Futian Mangrove Ecological Park is
an ecological park that integrates science popularization education and
ecological restoration. As an important buffer zone between the Shenzhen and
Hong Kong conservation areas, it is also a vital ecological corridor for the
exchange of biodiversity between the two regions. The park is rich in flora and
fauna, with 16 species of mangrove plants from 9 families and 194 species of
birds, including 23 rare and endangered species. Approximately 100,000
migratory birds stop over in Shenzhen Bay each year, making it an important
"rest stop" and "refueling station" on the East Asian-Australasian
Flyway.
In this public welfare action, participants
visited the Shenzhen Futian Mangrove Ecological Park Science Exhibition Hall. Our
volunteers earnestly studied the three major sections of the exhibition hall:
mangrove protection, biodiversity conservation and the evolution of the
ecological park. They gained a comprehensive understanding of the growth
characteristics of mangrove wetlands and their significant role in
environmental protection, as well as a deeper understanding of the migration,
habitat and protection of endangered species and various international
migratory birds. The characteristic of mangrove roots deeply embedded and
growing in patches also inspired us to focus on key customer service in the
Greater Bay Area during the implementation of our company's strategy, to
connect the dots and unite all collaborative forces in the Greater Bay Area,
and to promote the in-depth and practical implementation of the Greater Bay
Area strategy.
This public welfare event also included a
mangrove conservation public welfare hike and education component. With slogans
such as "Cherish Wetlands, Build a Green Home Together" and
"Protect Biodiversity, Respect Every Form of Life", our volunteers
carried display boards with these messages as they walked through the park's
lanes and bridges, interacting closely with visitors. They actively showcased
the importance of mangroves in protecting wetlands and biodiversity, advocating
for a green and sustainable development concept of harmonious coexistence
between humans and nature.
Mangroves are a precious treasure for humanity
and nature. The protection of mangrove ecosystems is a cause that benefits both
the present and future generations. Guotai Junan will use this public welfare
activity as an opportunity to further enhance the awareness of mangrove
protection and social responsibility among employees. Efforts will be made to
contribute more to environmental protection within our capabilities and to
promote the vigorous development of Guotai Junan's "Finance for Good,
Walking with Green" ESG and green public welfare initiatives. At the same
time, we call on the public to pay more attention to and participate in
environmental protection, to gather the environmental protection efforts of
every individual, and to jointly stimulate the strong momentum of green and
sustainable development, promoting the construction of a beautiful world where
humans and nature coexist harmoniously.
